How it works

From the field to the wall in four steps.

  1. Freeze it and pack it

No need to skin or clean it first — fresh is best. Freeze the head, double-bag it, and box it with a copy of the packing list.

    Packing checklist
  2. Ship it or drop it off

Send it FedEx, UPS or U.S. Mail marked “Taxidermy Items,” or bring it to our OKC processing building, Mon–Fri 8–5.

    Drop-off details
  3. We tag it and clean it

Every skull gets a numbered band the moment it arrives, then goes to the beetle colony, degreasing and whitening.

  4. We invoice, you hang it

Most orders take 2–4 months. You're invoiced when it's done: cleaning price, 7.5% bio-disposal fee and return shipping.

From the field

What hunters and families say.

Great service, competitive pricing and fast return!! Highly recommend for all your European mounts!!

— Jimmy C.

I had Skulls Unlimited preserve the skeleton of my cat after his passing. The team was SO kind and helpful from the point where I made my inquiry about process/pricing through the final delivery back to my home. The preservation is incredibly thorough and obviously done with a lot of care and skill.

— Michele B.

Fantastic place to have cleaning services performed. Highly recommended.

— Bill D.

Before you send it

The questions we hear every fall. Read the full FAQ →

Do I have to skin the specimen before I send it?

No. Skulls can be sent in any condition — the fresher the better. We don't charge extra for unskinned or spoiled specimens.

How long will it take?

Approximately three to four months. Every skull cleans differently, and peak-season volume can slow things down; we return every order as promptly as we can.

Is the listed price the total?

No. A 7.5% bio-hazardous disposal surcharge and return shipping are added to the total when your specimens are ready to come back to you.

How will I know the skull I get back is mine?

Every skull is banded with a numbered, non-removable tag the moment it arrives, logged to your order, and matched on the way out.

Ready when you are

Send us the skull. We'll send back the trophy.

Ship it from anywhere in the country or drop it off in Oklahoma City — no appointment, and no deposit for cleaning.
